Located in Monona, WI, GateWave Northern was incorporated in 1991 as a service corporation for electronics research and product development. Since 1997 GateWave offers characterization and evaluation services for IC test sockets,  backplane connectors and probecards.

GateWave Northern is headed by Dr. Gert Hohenwarter who has led the company since its inception.  He is responsible for the testing as well as engineering and consulting projects of the company.
